Vintage 1950's Fabric Lewis Coin Purse Satin with Crown Embellishments

A nice Crown Lewis black change purse from the 30s to 60's. The fabric is a black satin, embellished with the signature crown printed in gold. The crown latch that keeps the purse closed still works. The frame is brass with a crown latch (it can be carefully polished with a polishing cloth), and Lewis written underneath it. The inside of the frame is embossed with Jemco within a diamond shape; the overall bag Measures 5" x 3". The Lewis Purse Company was founded by Mat Lewis in New York City on Madison Ave. and was in business from the 1930s until early 1960s.
